Healing is simple. Some have attempted to make it complex; however, all you need to know about healing is contained in the Word of God... the Bible. If you are willing to simply take God at His Word, you will be healed.
God is not the author of sickness. To understand why sickness exists in the world today we must go all the way back to the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. His willful disobedience to God in eating the forbidden fruit brought about not only spiritual death and separation from God... it also resulted in physical death. Therefore, as spiritual death became our inheritance from Adam, so did sickness and disease. We may say that sickness is a by-product of sin. Because Adam's transgression was satan-inspired, sickness also originated with him. Sin, satan, and sickness go hand in hand.
2 Corinthians 5:21 "for He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
We know what God has done about sin. He sent Jesus to bear our sins and our sin nature on the Cross at Calvary. But what about sickness and disease that resulted from sin?
Isaiah 53:4-5 "Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and our sorrows (pains); Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."
Matthew 8:16-17 "When evening had come, they brought Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."
If there were any doubt at all about whether or not Isaiah meant that healing was included in the atonement, Matthew 8:17 answers that question. Healing is undoubtedly included in Jesus' substitutionary death for us. Just as surely as He bore our sins, He bore the results of that sin, which included all sickness and disease.
1 Peter 2:24 "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness --- by whose stripes you were healed."
God is concerned about both our spiritual healing and our physical healing. The Bible tells us that it is God's will that every person be saved. At the same time that Jesus purchased our eternal salvation, He bought,... by His stripes, our healing. It is equally God's will that we be healed.
The enemy tells us that even though God can and does heal some people, He might not want to heal us. But when we understand that God is..."no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34) and when we see that Jesus bore our sicknesses just as surely as He bore our sins... then we can freely come to Him and receive our healing.
You see, the "healing issue" was settled long ago by Jesus. We can be sure that it is God's will to heal, every time.
Matthew 4:24 says, "Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics and paralytics, and He healed them."
Luke 4:40 tells us, "When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him, and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them."
Matthew 9:35 reads, "Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease."
Jesus went to all the towns. He healed all the people of every kind of sickness. You can see the pattern; Jesus' answer to sickness was healing... every time.
Acts 10:38 tells us "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
We can be sure it is God's will to heal, every time. The Word says that sickness is of the devil, and Jesus was sent to destroy the works of the devil. And we know that Jesus hasn't changed. He is the same... "yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8
Sickness is a curse. Sickness and disease are among the curses listed in the twenty-eighth chapter of Deuteronomy. (Many kinds of sickness and disease are listed in this chapter, and verses 60 & 61 cover every sickness and disease not listed.)
Jesus has delivered us from that curse:
Galatians 3:13-14 "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
Jesus became a curse for us so that we could go free from every curse. The blessing of Abraham is ours. WE ARE BLESSED! However, it is up to us to receive these blessings by faith and count them ours. We must know we are delivered from all sickness and disease and claim our healing by faith in God's Word.
HEALTH IS LEGALLY AND FREELY YOURS. It is ILLEGAL for satan to inflict sickness on you.
You may have (up until this point) been unaware that health is rightfully yours... as though someone deposited money to your account and you did not know it. You now know the truth... therefore, satan has no right to put on you what Jesus has borne for you. Resist him in the Name of Jesus... "Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7
If Jesus hadn't wanted us (without exception) to have healing... He would not have provided it at the Cross.
Healing is already ours. It has been paid for... just as Jesus' free gift of eternal life is ours and has been paid for. All we need to do is receive by faith what is rightfully ours! Just as He turns no one away when they asked to be saved (born-again). He is the same Jesus who turns no one away when they asked to be healed! We go to the Father in Jesus' Name, asking and receiving ONLY on the basis of what Jesus has done for us ... because "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses"
Praise God! It is easy to be healed. It is just as easy as receiving eternal life. All it takes is believing. Just as we believe that Jesus is Lord and our sins are forgiven, we must believe that Jesus is our Healer and God's Word is our medicine.
Proverbs 4:20-22 "...give attention to My Words... for they are life to those that find them, and health (medicine) to all their flesh."
To aid you in taking "God's medicine" we have included, on the space following, several scriptural confessions. Make them your personal testimony. Daily, as you repeatedly confess them, your faith will grow and healing will manifest in your body.
Thank You,
Jesus... Surely (for sure) You have
borne my griefs and sicknesses and carried away my sorrows and
pains... You were wounded for my transgressions, You were bruised
for my iniquities; the chastisement of my peace and well-being
was upon You; and by Your stripes I AM HEALED !
Isaiah 53:4-5
Jesus, when You walked on this earth
You healed ALL that were sick, that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took
our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." Thank You Jesus,
You have taken ALL my infirmities... ALL my sicknesses... ALL my
diseases... I am free from them; I do not have to have them.
Matthew 8:16-17
Christ has redeemed me from the the
curse of the law, having become a curse for me (for it is
written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),
that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles in Christ
Jesus, that I might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith... Lord Jesus, I receive by faith the deliverance from the
curse of the law that You wrought for me... including deliverance
from EVERY sickness and disease which is included under the
curse. I receive the blessing of Abraham which includes my
health.
Galatians 3:13-14
Jesus His own self bore my sins in
His own body on the tree, that I, having died to sins, should
live for righteousness -- by whose stripes I was healed. Thank
You Jesus... I know that by Your stripes I
AM HEALED !
1 Peter 2:24
Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all
that is within me, bless His holy name ! Bless the Lord O my
soul, and forget not all His benifits: Who forgives ALL my
iniquities, Who heals ALL my diseases, Who redeems my life from
destruction, who crowns me with loving kindness and tender
mercies, Who satisfies my mouth with good things so my youth is
renewed like the eagle's.
Psalm 103:1-5
I shall serve the Lord my God, and
He will bless my bread and my water; He will take sickness away
from the midst of me... He will fulfill the number of my days.
Exodus 23:25-26
No evil shall befall me, nor shall
any plague come near my dwelling; I have set my love upon Him,
therefore He will deliver me; I call upon Him and He answers me;
He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me and honor me.
With long life He is satisfying me, and showing me His salvation.
Psalm 91:10,14-16
My Father in Heaven sent His Word,
and healed me, and delivered me from my destruction.
Psalm 107:20
